A boutique offline editing studio, set up in East London by award-winning film editor Mark Whelan.

Mark Whelan

Mark Whelan has been editing commercials for over a decade. This has involved working with a number of talented and critically acclaimed directors, including Adam Smith, Peter Cattaneo, Tom Hooper, Paul WS Anderson, and Richard Ayoade. One of his most regular collaborators, Chris Turner, directed the ATU commercial “Battle”, for which Mark was awarded the ADC filmcraft award for best editing. Adam Smith's "Never Follow" commercial for Adidas, featuring Paul Pogba, was selected for the APA 50, and Mark's work has also picked up awards from The Drum, Promax, British Arrows and D&AD.

In addition to his commercial work, Mark has edited music videos for The Chemical Brothers, Plan B, The Editors, Birdy, Nadine Shah and The Courteeners.

However, Mark is possibly best known for his work on concert visuals, most notably with directing team Smith and Lyall for The Chemical Brothers. That work incorporates The Chemical Brothers' ground-breaking live tour visuals, as well as an array of visual material for the band, including the internationally acclaimed, and MVA-winning, concert film, "Don't Think". On top of this work for the Chemical Brothers, Mark has worked on live visuals for artists as diverse as Metallica, Plan B, Alicia Keys and Klingande. Equally comfortable with a traditional film-editing process, as he is with post-heavy projects involving the likes of projection-mapping and motion capture, Mark often works directly with animators and lighting designers to get these bespoke projects perfected.

Outside of the live events world,  other longer form projects have included work on Series 28 of BBC's Top Gear, and a number of short films that have been screened at the London Short Film Festival, the Berlin Fashion Film Festival and onedotzero. He has also edited films screened at one-off events and installations for the BFI, V&A, Manchester International Festival and for the English National Ballet.
